Authors: Richard L. Sutherlanda; Lalgudi V. Natarajana

Abstract

Polymelcdispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) films have become the subject of much scientific investigation and commercial development. These systems begin as a homogeneous mixture of liquid crystal (LC) and monomer or oligomer, and possibly some other minor components, and upon curing produce a composite system consisting of a well-defined LC phase embedded in a polymer matrix.
