Photographs from honorary degree ceremony in Dublin

In the last issue of Liquid Crystals Today, we reported that Professor John Goodby, Chairman of the International Liquid Crystal Society, was awarded an honorary degree at a ceremony in Dublin just before Christmas. We can now include some photographs of the occasion.

John Goodby in the Provost''s House on the day of conferment of his honorary degree at Trinity College, Dublin.

A photograph of the full group receiving honorary degrees at the ceremony. The Chancellor of the University of Dublin, Mary Robinson, can be seen third from the left in the official golden gown. Provost of Trinity College, Dublin, John Hegarty is 4th on the left. Fans of UK astronomy might recognise Patrick Moore beside John Goodby on the right of the photograph.

Date: March 2003
