Coles awarded Gray Medal

The GW Gray Medal for 2003 was presented to Harry Coles who has recently moved to Cambridge University. His work is well known in liquid crystals, and most recent interests involve the study of applications of polymers, nano-structures and liquid crystals to displays, telecommunication and light emitting devices.

Harry currently leads the UK Faraday Partnership, COMIT, aimed at linking industry and academia in the area of applications of liquid crystals to communications.
