Professor John Goodby (University of York) has recently been awarded the RSC Interdisciplinary Award in recognition of his contributions to the understanding of ferrielectricity in liquid crystals, alignment mechanisms in devices, and for work that has led to an understanding of the structures of frustrated liquid crystals (TGB phases and chiral smectic C variants in particular).
Congratulations John.
