Prestigious Fellowships Awarded to Three Early Career Liquid Crystal Researchers
Dr Verena Görtz (Chemistry, University of York) was awarded a Royal Society Dorothy Hodgkin Fellowship. Dr Sharon Jewell (Physics, University of Exeter) was awarded a Royal Society University Fellowship. The Royal Society is the Academy of Science of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth.
Dr Nickolas Roberts (Physics, University of Manchester) has won a BBSRC David Philips Fellowship which will be held at the University of Bristol.
All of these prestigious fellowships are highly competitive and sought after, with typically hundreds of applicants across all fields and only a handful of awards available. All are awarded for a 5 year period to enable early career researchers to establish an independent research group in their field of speciality.
